Our Australian eclipse tour runs from November 9-15, 2012 and benefits the Green Corridor Project, a long-term initiative aimed at restoring the health of the Barron River, through revegetation along riverbanks. Guests of Elevate Destinations to this ancient land not only have the once in a lifetime chance to view the solar eclipse on November 14, but they will also roll up their sleeves alongside new-found “mates,” working together on a community conservation project. The rate of $5,500 per person includes transfers, accommodations, some meals, guides, tours, and the eclipse celebration.

Eclipse viewing will be in the highlands above Cairns, adjacent to the World Heritage Rainforest on the northeastern coast of Queensland -- one of the most remarkable bioregions of the world. Guests will see the eclipse near its easternmost point and for its maximum time period, in excess of two minutes. Noted American astronomer, educator, and author, Professor Stephan Martin, will accompany the tour as a guest host.
