Yellow fever has hit World Expeditions Travel Group (WETG) and thankfully, it’s contagious. Sydney staff turned up to work last week in a riot of yellow shirts, scarves, jackets and hats as part of the national Wear it Yellow campaign for National Reconciliation Week 2026, embracing this year’s theme, “All In”, with characteristic enthusiasm and colour.

The cheerful display was about more than bright outfits and team photos. By participating in Wear it Yellow, WETG is raising funds for Children’s Ground, a First Nations organisation delivering a 25-year, community-led approach grounded in culture, language and local leadership. Funds raised support programs that strengthen First Nations languages, culture and identity, improve education and health outcomes, create local employment opportunities and empower communities through self-determination.

“National Reconciliation Week is a reminder that reconciliation requires all of us to step off the sidelines and take meaningful action,” said Donna Lawrence, Global Sustainability & Impact Manager for World Expeditions Travel Group.

“Adventure travel is all about connecting with people, culture and Country, so supporting initiatives such as Wear it Yellow is a natural fit for our team. It was fantastic to see so many staff embrace the challenge and turn our Sydney office into a sea of yellow for such an important cause.”

Children’s Ground currently works across nine communities in the Northern Territory through a long term, First Nations led approach designed to create transformational change over a generation. The organisation's workforce is 66 per cent First Nations, and its programs support children, families and communities through integrated education, health, employment, cultural and community development initiatives.

Whether working from home, in the office or guiding trips on Country, WETG staff were encouraged to wear yellow, share photos and contribute to the company fundraising effort throughout National Reconciliation Week.
