WomanTours, Inc., the leading bicycle touring company for women, announced the hiring of Annette Lein as social media director and bike fleet manager. Lein has 30 years of experience working in photojournalism and was recently employed with the Gannett Democrat & Chronicle newspaper. She is also an avid cyclist and bicycle mechanic.
“With our continued annual growth, it was time we expanded and invested in a larger online presence,” says WomanTours President, Jackie Marchand. “Our vision is for WomanTours to become the online resource for women and cycling. Not just about our trips, but about everything that bicycling encompasses. We want to help involve more women in all aspect of the sport – touring, racing, commuting, and maintaining their bikes.”
Lein will be responsible for producing multimedia content for the company’s website, printed catalog, and various social media outlets. She will also be responsible for upgrading and maintaining the company’s rental bike fleet. Half of WomanTours guests rent a bicycle for the tours.
“I’m so lucky. I get to use both sides of my brain in a job that encompasses everything I love,” says Lein.
WomanTours, Inc. was founded in 1985 and conducts fully-supported, inn-to-inn bike tours in the USA and internationally. The tours are from 2-days to 2-months long and are for women only.
