Golden Galapagos by Golden Experiences & Travel (GET) has announced two new small-ship products for the majestic Galapagos Islands: M/C Monique (maiden voyage April 9, 2026) and M/C Grand Ocean Spray (maiden voyage October 3, 2026). Both vessels are CO2-neutral, purpose-built for 16 guests, and designed to support low-density operations.
M/C Monique introduces bespoke interior craftsmanship across its suites and social spaces, supported by 20 monocrystalline solar panels (500W each) and advanced lithium battery technology, enabling quieter navigation and reduced fuel dependency. The vessel operates 3-, 4-, and 7-night itineraries and features three-deck social and observation spaces, including shaded terraces, an open-air lounge, al fresco dining, a whirlpool, and bar service.
M/C Grand Ocean Spray brings an intuitive panoramic concept with private panoramic balcony suites, ocean-facing social areas, and wellness features, including a panoramic spa, multiple lounging areas, an open-air sun terrace, al fresco dining, a premium whirlpool, and a cocktail bar. The vessel offers 3-, 4-, 5-, and 7-night programs.
The new vessels reflect a broader shift in Galapagos cruising, where operators are responding to rising demand while operating within strict conservation and capacity controls set by the Galapagos National Park Directorate. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the archipelago enforces limits on vessel size, visitor numbers, and itinerary access, reinforcing the role of small-ship, low-impact operations.
Both catamarans were purpose-built for Galapagos conditions, supporting quieter navigation, flexible shore excursions, and reduced congestion at visitor sites. Their CO₂-neutral design and onboard energy systems align with growing expectations from travelers and trade partners for sustainability-driven expedition travel.
