Tucano Peru also offers a 12-day Best of Peru small-group departure leaving the first Saturday of each month with a minimum of four and maximum of ten guests. Tucano Peru operates its own regular departures of the Inca Trail trek each Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (except in February when the Inca Trail is closed) and the lesser-traveled Salkantay trek each Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Both are led by highly skilled trekking guides and utilizing top-of-the-line gear including North Face and Columbia tents and premium Thermarest mattresses. Both the Inca Trail and Salkantay treks are priced for 2014 at $495 per person net sharing. Private and luxury treks are available on request for any day of the week. Both group departures include high quality camping gear (tents, mattresses, etc), all necessary permits (Inca Trail permits pending availability), entrance to Machu Picchu, porters/horses to carry gear, professional chef, dining tent, private toilet, all meals and snacks, wine or pisco with dinner, oxygen and first aid, shuttle bus to Aguas Calientes, and round trip transportation by private shuttle and/or train to Cusco.
The Best of Peru monthly set departure is a comprehensive itinerary which includes the often overlooked highlights of colonial Arequipa and the magnificent Colca Canyon, as well as the perennial must-see sights of Cusco, the Urubamba Valley, Machu Picchu and Lima. The group departure is priced from $1782 per person net sharing and private departures are available daily on request throughout the year.
