The Tartan Group has received B Corp certification, which is granted to businesses that equally value sustainability, accountability, and company profits.
To become a certified B Corp or “Benefit Corporation” companies need to meet high social, environmental, performance, accountability, and transparency standards as set by the non-profit B Lab. The certification process began with an in-depth questionnaire that looked at Tartan Group’s policies and practices around corporate governance, employees, involvement in the community, and environmental practices.
The Tartan Group worked with Victoria based Synergy Enterprises to complete the certification process and to measure its environmental performance to create an accountability plan for the company. Tartan’s certification may be accessed through the B Corp website at https://www.bcorporation.net/community/the-tartan-group.
Tartan joins several other companies in Victoria including Synergy Enterprises, DeeBee’s SpecialTea Foods Ltd., Enrollment Resources Inc., and Brooke & Associates Consulting, which focus on promoting responsible and sustainable business practices. There are 1,863 B Corporations around the globe, including Patagonia, Method, Ben & Jerry’s, Seventh Generation, and Klean Kanteen.
