Bogotá, COLOMBIAMore Local, a Responsible Tour Operator and Destination Management Company in Colombia, is honoured to be managing all Ground Handling logistics for the Oranje Trophy FIFA 2014 World Cup Caravan traveling through Colombia this May.

This year, the Oranje Trophy adventure caravan will be travelling by car for more than 25.000 km ́s and crossing through 14 countries. A total of 29 teams / 48 participants, which started their convoy adventure in March, will be cruising from USA to Brazil to support the Dutch Football team during the FIFA 2014 World Cup.

After travelling through USA, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and Panama, to name a few, they will now make their way to South America, starting with Colombia. The country of magical realism will welcome the intrepid Dutch travellers amidst its Caribbean flair in the coastal city of Cartagena. The adventure will then lead them through the Coffee Triangle, Medellin, Cali and Pasto. After visiting Colombia, they will head via Ecuador to Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and finally Brazil where they will support their national 11.

The caravan of adventure and football lovers is set together by different teams driven by the same passion. As Oranje Trophy describe it themselves, “It is only for heroes and quite simply an extreme test for the participants and their vehicles. This motorised adventure provides the perfect opportunity to interact with new cultures, experience the beauty of the countries they visit, and build friendships for a lifetime”. Teams will have the unique opportunity to discover Colombia's diversity, enjoy the beauty of the countryside, experience the friendliness of its people, and taste its exotic cuisine.

Juan Paredes, Managing Director More Local, Oranje Trophy's official Ground Handler in Colombia, says: “This charity-driven adventure will provide participants with an up close and personal experience of Colombia ́s magical realism. Teams will have the unique opportunity to explore some of the country ́s most fascinating areas and natural delights, while raising money for meaningful social projects and offsetting their carbon footprint”.

Responsible Tourism

As More Local is driven by the desire to have a positive impact on their locations, raise money and support schemes to help the local people and environment wherever they operate, they are pleased to collaborate with Oranje Trophy, who also combine their adventure with charitable causes. Oranje Trophy promotes World Coaches, a charity that helps educate less fortunate children through football.
