On December 27, a unique and luxurious pop-up mobile canvas camp will be open for business in one of the most remote areas of the Amazon rainforest, São Gabriel da Cachoeira. Located about an hour from Manaus, the region is known as Cabeça do Cachorro (Dog‘s head). Amazon Emotions offers a chance for guests to take a step closer to remote nature, invigorating their senses and enjoying a holiday experience with a difference.
“This has been an old dream of mine since I created Amazon Emotions, the result of many journeys that I imagined in the region throughout my professional career as travel designer. And it took shape after living the experience of operating in the most difficult place imaginable in the Amazon, Pico da Neblina, alongside the Yanomami Indigenous people. I am always passionate about mobile camping experiences, and we are excited to offer this special remote option to our guests only during the months of July to January, combining a flavor of the nomadic Amazonian traditional way of life with immersive and stunning nature meeting modern luxury,” said Vanessa Marino, owner of Amazon Emotions.
The camp will be operated with French flair through a partnership with Cécile–a Parisian interior design architect– and inspired by the rugged beauty of the natural Amazon rainforest. Hosted by a team of expert staff and catered for by experienced chefs who create and serve gourmet food that is both internationally appreciated and traditional to the Amazon. Each morning and evening, à la carte tours led by professional guides will take guests on exploration, and at night you will lie in supreme comfort while listening to the sounds of the forest.
This is not a small and intimate operation, but rather a celebration and shared experience in a special place in the Amazon, put together and pulled off by a team of people who have refined the luxury camp experience. There will be four walk-in tented bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom and hot shower. Attention to detail takes the experience to the next level, and everything from usb battery packs to cozy blankets will be provided for, and roaring campfires will shed a glowing, dancing light across the camp.
As an extra special private experience, guests enjoy an epic tour of the deluxe riverboats, the EcoBoat or Odyssey. Cruising slowly downstream deep through the Rio Negro from São Gabriel da Cachoeira to Manaus, enjoying panoramic views from the open-air top deck and sip exotic cocktails made with regional fruits as our expedition leaders provide an overview of the journey ahead. This will be a great opportunity to soak up the wild nature and stunning jungle views while traveling to your destination, Jau and Anavilhanas National Park.
