Southwind Adventures, a boutique style tour operator specializing in South and Central America, announced recently the addition of Shannon Posiviata as the new Director of Marketing and Sales. She brings over 20 years of leisure travel marketing and sales experience to the position.

Shannon Posiviata has spent the past 15 years dedicated to working with individual and groups to enhance their experience in travel through adventure and unique programs. She began her passion for international travel as a student on Semester at Sea. Decades later she has represented companies that created tours and cruises around the world. As an outdoors enthusiast, Shannon was able to discover many amazing places off the beaten path and wanted to assist in creating a memory that lasts a lifetime with others.

Joining Southwind Adventures was a natural fit as Shannon has extensively traveled throughout the world including South and Central America, among her favorite destinations include Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba, Belize, Brazil, Ecuador, Galapagos, Peru and the Amazon. To quote Shannon, “Latin America has so much to offer from vibrant, energetic and traditional cultures with a rich ancient history and archeology to pristine natural settings and wildlife sanctuaries, featuring remote locations for adventure travel as well as 1st-class and deluxe resorts, boutique hotels and unique lodges." Having an opportunity to work in this area with a successful longstanding company celebrating in the near future 30 Years was exciting and new addition to my personal experience.

Southwind Adventure’s Owner and Director of Operations, Luis Felipa, says, “We are very excited to have Shannon Posiviata on our team. Her lifetime career of marketing combined with her sales expertise is just what we were looking for to take Southwind Adventure’s 29 years of experience to the next generation.”
