Stanley Park Totem Poles A copyThe World Indigenous Tourism Alliance (WINTA) and the Aboriginal Tourism Association of British Columbia (AtBC) are calling for expressions of interest to present to the 2nd Pacific Asia Indigenous Tourism Conference (PAITC 2015) in Vancouver from 12th to 14th September 2015.

The PAITC 2015 is the premier international conference for interested stakeholders to share experiences and case studies which highlight best practice in promoting the rights of Indigenous peoples in tourism.

VancouverThe PAITC 2015 conference theme: Creating Winning Alliances in Indigenous Tourism builds on the PAITC 2012 which culminated with the adoption of the Larrakia Declaration on the Development of Indigenous Tourism. The Larrakia Declaration articulates principles to guide the development of Indigenous tourism and calls on governments and all sections of the tourism industry to building bridges of partnership and cooperation with Indigenous peoples and their tourism industry organisations.

WINTA and AtBC intend to accommodate a full range of international speakers during the conference including businesses, partnerships, collectives, tourism associations, government agencies, education training Institutions and non-government organisations.

Expressions of interest, to present case studies that highlight best practice in promoting the rights of Indigenous peoples in tourism, must be submitted by Friday 17th April 2015.
