Orbridge, a well-known provider of high-end educational travel to more than 140 alumni associations across the country, announces its new Astounding Antarctica program, with inaugural departures beginning in February 2018.
The new ship-based program features the 114-guest Sea Spirit, combining stylish shipboard comforts with an outstanding itinerary including 10 days exploring the Antarctic Peninsula.
The Sea Spirit’s design features maneuverability, which lends itself to spontaneous discoveries of polar wildlife. The vessel has an ice-strengthened hull, a fleet of Zodiacs, and a set of retractable fin stabilizers for smoother sailing.
Onboard naturalists, lecturers and scientists will provide guests the opportunity to enjoy numerous educational shore excursions, including the chance to kayak among the glaciers, and even camp overnight on shore if they so choose.
Flexible excursions include the chance to walk among the iconic penguin colonies, visit sites of both past and present polar exploration, and observe the multitude of wildlife that makes its home in the area—both by land and by skiff.
