Once In a Lifetime Opportunity To Be Mentored in South Africa by a National Geographic Photographer!

SYDNEY, Australia - WorldNomads.com, in partnership with National Geographic Channel are offering a budding photographer a once in a lifetime chance to go on assignment with renowned National Geographic on-assignment wildlife photographer Jason Edwards, to South Africa, as part of the 2011 Travel Photography Scholarship.

The winner will experience an 8-day trip courtesy of the worlds leading adventure travel company, Gap Adventures. They’ll explore the stunning Kruger National Park and step into the heart of Big 5 game country with lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo, as well as zebra, giraffe, kudo and monkey...to name a few. They’ll also have the chance to photograph Cape Town in all its vibrant colour and visit a pre-school community project on the outskirts of Cape Town, offering them a well rounded view of modern South Africa.

The successful candidate will be flown from the country of residence to Johannesburg where they will meet their mentor, Jason Edwards and begin their South African adventure with Gap Adventures.

The assignment is to work alongside Jason Edwards photographing diverse wildlife and landscapes in the Kruger National Park and Timbavati Game Reserve at various times of the day and night. You’ll then get the urban South African experience visiting the Red Hill community project and other great sites around Cape Town.

The scholarship recipient will gain invaluable mentoring and hands-on experience in everything from shot set up, technique and composition to insights into Edwards’ many years of diverse experience as an award-winning photographer. This is a rare experience into what it's like to be a photographer on assignment with National Geographic.
