Visitnorway is making the longest scream in the world to celebrate the anniversary of the famous Norwegian artist Edvard Munch, who painted the world renowned scream painting.

Today marks the opening of the official Munch year in Norway, 150 years after the birth of the painter. To celebrate the painter and the inspiring Norwegian landscape, Visitnorway is releasing a short film, to show the modern day scream experiences in Norway.

- We want people to share and join the celebration by creating the longest scream in the world, says the Norwegian director of tourism, Per-Arne Tuftin. The film is showing the modern day scream experiences in Norway, the only difference is, this time it is all about the positive experiences in life that make you scream.

Join the longest scream in the world

Visitnorway invites people from all around the world to join them in creating the longest scream in the world by sharing their own scream experience to make the film grow longer.  The submitted screams will be added to the original film.

- We basically want to make the world scream, says the Norwegian director of tourism, Per-Arne Tuftin.

Scream you way to Norway

And the best part is that you can literally scream your way all the way to Norway. Of all the submitted screams a winner will be picked each week, for a true scream experience in Norway.

No wonder this is where the scream comes from

Norway is a country of exceptional natural beauty and thrilling nature experiences. From the northern lights to the midnight sun, Norway never fails to impress.  We say no wonder this is where the scream comes from.
