The TurboDown to South America and Beyond sweepstakes—created by LAN Airlines, Columbia Sportswear, Quark Expeditions and Turismo Chile-- give travelers the chance to win a trip for two to Chile’s Torres Del Paine National Park, and a polar ship expedition to Antarctica—plus new TurboDown gear to keep warm.
Miami, FL — It’s a part of the world few people ever get to see, which, given the monumental nature of the scenery, is truly a shame. But for one lucky winner—and an even luckier guest—spending over two weeks in southern Chile and Antarctica will become a reality.
Whoever wins the Grand Prize of the “TurboDown To South America and Beyond” sweepstakes will be flown on LAN Airlines, part of LATAM Airlines Group, from the US to the Puntos Arenas, Chile. From there, they’ll shuttle to their home for the next five days, EcoCamp Patagonia, located in the heart of the scenic Torres Del Paine National Park.
Staying in their own geodesic dome, the winners will take day trips to explore the Torres Del Paine attractions, including the Paine Massif, Glacier Grey and The Three Towers.
From there, it’s off to the town of Ushuaia, where the winners will board a Quark Expeditions Polar Adventure Ship, and set sail for the Seventh Continent. The trip will begin with a sail down the historic Beagle Channel, before crossing the Drake Passage. While the waters there can be rough, the onboard living will be easy.
Once at the Antarctic Peninsula, the winners will travel uncharted bays and channels aboard nimble Zodiac boats that allow for spontaneous explorations. They’ll land, and hike the unique terrain, meeting curious penguins along the way.
And as if all that wasn’t enough, the winner and guest will receive new TurboDown gear from Columbia Sportswear to stay toasty throughout the trip.
