Denver, CO – Bold Betties Outfitters announced this month the Beta launch of www.boldbettiesoutfitters.com, an e-commerce site where women can rent the latest apparel and gear for adventure travel and outdoor activities – such as backpacking, camping, hiking, rock climbing and paddle sports – for a fraction of the retail cost.
As many companies in the outdoor and adventure travel industries typically target males or the hardcore outdoor enthusiast, Bold Betties Outfitters supports the “average” woman in her quest for adventure by reducing the cost of getting outfitted and eliminating the intimidation factor of mammoth camping and sporting goods stores.
In addition to renting clothing and gear, www.boldbettiesoutfitters.com also features packing lists, product reviews and other outdoor tips geared towards women.
“Bold Betties was born out of my desire to empower women to live experiences that build their confidence, reinforce their independence, and create long-lasting, positive female relationships. Getting outside and seeing the world has done that for me.” said Niki Koubourlis, CEO and Founder of Bold Betties Outfitters.
“One of my main goals with Bold Betties is to increase female participation in adventure travel and outdoor recreation by breaking down the existing barriers of cost, intimidation and misconception,” she said.
To cultivate a female community in outdoor recreation, Koubourlis leads a Bold Betties Meetup Group in Denver, which has grown to more than 400 members since it started in April. This diverse group of women, who range in age from 24-65, meet for activities like kayaking, camping, rock climbing and ziplining. To expand the Bold Betties community outside of Colorado, the website will launch a community forum later this year, where women can find outdoor activity partners in their area.
