Myanmar, 1 Year After: Achievements and Next Steps

Easia Travel is a 12-year-experienced destination management company specialising in tailor-made tours in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar for individuals, groups and incentive. The DMC is now evaluating its first year of activity in Myanmar.

One year after opening its own offices in the country, Easia Travel is now one of the major players in the tourism industry in Myanmar. In 2013 around 2000 travelers visited Myanmar with Easia Travel, which is expecting between 4000 and 6000 PAX in 2014.

In anticipation of this increasing demand the DMC’s teams in Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay and Inle have been reinforced, jumping from 10 to 40 staff members in one year!

Overall, analyses show that the destination is facing an exponential demand. As a result prices of touristic products are increasing – especially in Mandalay and Inle regions – and hotel room availability is pretty unstable.

Easia Travel decided to make the most of this situation and chose to invest for its clients by creating an entire team dedicated to hotel room reservations and by committing on prices.

Thanks to numerous hotel openings, the situation should progressively go back to normal by 2015/2016. In the meantime Easia Travel will sustain its momentum by continually improving its quality of service and efficiency. New leisure and incentive products are also under development, which stays in line with the DMC’s business philosophy: listening, personalization and creativity!
