Head of Metropolitan Touring's Holding Group Launches "Por Todos" Initiative to Aid the Needy & Bolster Healthcare in Ecuador During COVID-19 Pandemic.

Fundraising goal of new “people-led” emergency effort is US$20 million-plus by the end of April

As cases of COVID-19 rise across Ecuador, Roque Sevilla, the head of Metropolitan Touring’s holding group, has taken a bold step to aid the local population in getting through the pandemic together. It’s Por Todos, a new “people-led” emergency initiative inspired by the current crises that is focused on raising funds to save lives, health, and the future of the country.

Flexible, transparent, and backed by respected Ecuadorian entrepreneurs, Por Todos – literally, “For All” – is intended to build solidarity by mitigating the overall impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic with effective and timely solutions that are targeted to those most in need. That includes everyone from vulnerable populations already struggling to put food on the table to healthcare professionals who are putting their lives on the line daily aiding the ill. In other words – for all.

Launched by Sevilla on April 1st, 2020, Por Todos aims to raise US$20 million-plus by the end of April. Ambitious? Yes. But the outpouring of generosity thus far has been impressive, with over US$7 million pledged through Friday, April 10.

Funds are being deployed for:

  • Food and other essentials for Ecuador’s most vulnerable
  • Protection and support for health workers and their families across the country
  • Much-needed virus detection tests and equipment
  • Respiratory equipment
Por Todos is being managed as a trust by Fideval, audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers, and overseen by a highly regarded board of directors to ensure integrity, transparency, effectiveness, agility, and compassion. There is no pressure of any kind on the initiative from political, regional, or corporate affiliations.
