Assistant Editor's Note: The following is an update from ATTA Member Volcanoes Safaris on the recent regional outbreak of several ebola cases.

In recent days there have been reports of Ebola in a remote area of western Uganda near the border with the DRC.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) in Uganda is working closely with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the USA to monitor and control the spread of the disease. The WHO has stated that there is no need to restrict travel or trade to Uganda and within Uganda. For further information, the World Health Organisation’s statement can be found here.

Travel is proceeding normally to all areas of the country. Guests are proceeding with their safaris as planned to all areas of the country and all parks.

Volcanoes Safaris is in close contact with the authorities and is monitoring the situation. We will inform guests/agents of any developments.
