In the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, where the rainforest has been protected by generations of guardians, Kuaii Amazonas has been established. A new ecolodge launched by the Ese Eja Indigenous Community of Infierno in partnership with Rainforest Expeditions. This partnership was formed with a long-term vision to strengthen the conservation and monitoring of the communal territory, ensuring that future generations will continue to find a living, healthy forest deeply connected to the Ese Eja culture.
Located on the community’s ancestral lands and serving as the gateway to the Tambopata National Reserve, one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, Kuaii Amazonas offers an authentic and accessible experience for those wishing to discover the Amazon for the first time. The program invites guests to connect with a forest that has been preserved for generations by the Ese Eja people, through experiences centered on nature, culture, and human connection.

The starting point for a unique experience in the Amazon
Designed to be your gateway to the Amazon, Kuaii Amazonas combines nature, comfort, and learning in an experience deeply connected to the region.
Just a short distance from Puerto Maldonado, the journey begins with a tour that allows you to gradually leave the urban world behind and immerse yourself in the natural rhythm of the jungle.
After a short drive and a boat ride down the Tambopata River, surrounded by primary forest, visitors arrive in a region with no roads, nearby towns, or urban disturbances. The Amazonian experience begins long before arrival at the lodge. Every stay directly contributes to conservation initiatives and strengthens long-term collaboration with the Ese Eja Indigenous Community of Infierno, consolidating a model where sustainable tourism generates a positive impact for both people and the forest.
Conservation efforts led in partnership with the community
This shared vision between the Ese Eja Indigenous Community of Infierno and Rainforest Expeditions demonstrates that the protection of the Amazon can be built through genuine partnerships with the communities that inhabit the forest.
The community contributes not only land, but also ancestral knowledge, cultural identity, and a deep understanding of the rainforest’s natural cycles. Rainforest Expeditions has more than three decades of experience in sustainable tourism, conservation, and scientific research in Tambopata.
This partnership helps protect an important tropical forest corridor where biodiversity remains intact and where iconic species such as macaws, monkeys, giant otters, and hundreds of bird species find refuge.

Born of the forest, built by its people
Kuaii Amazonas draws its inspiration from the forest and the people who have protected it for generations. Inspired by a more intimate and flexible way of experiencing the Peruvian Amazon, the ecolodge has been designed for travelers with limited time who are seeking an authentic experience, without sacrificing the opportunity to enjoy a healthy, well-preserved forest teeming with life.
The experience combines nature, comfort, and a connection to the Amazonian environment through activities designed to help you discover the essence of the forest in a simple yet meaningful way. Because at Kuaii Amazonas, being close to nature doesn’t mean compromising on the experience. it means getting closer to the Amazon in a more accessible and authentic way.
Born of the forest. Built by its people. Inspired by the Amazon.
