psa18_img2(SEATTLE) June 9, 2015 – The Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA; www.adventuretravel.biz) has announced an impressive list of industry trips around Chile ahead of the Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS) to be held in Puerto Varas, October 5 - 9, 2015. Known as “Pre-Summit Adventures,” these three- to seven-day trips are opportunities for adventure travel industry representatives to experience local tourism offerings by Chile’s tour operators specializing in adventure.

Registered delegates of ATWS have a selection of 35 itineraries to choose from, showcasing regions along the entire length of the country. From stargazing in the Atacama -- the driest desert in the world -- in the north to kayaking past icebergs in Patagonia in the south, all of Chile’s hubs of adventure will be explored by international outbound tour operators, travel agents, and media attending ATWS. Each trip features something from the three major components the ATTA says make a trip an “adventure”: nature, culture and activity. Activities include trekking through mountains, glaciers, forests and deserts, kayaking, caving and horseback riding. Unique cultural opportunities include visiting the mysterious ruins of Easter Island, learning about winemaking in Chile’s oldest vineyards, staying in a traditional Ruca house on the shores of Lake Budi or attending a Patagonian lamb barbecue.

psa7_img1-1024x680The ATTA invites top notch adventure media to cover the ATWS and the industry in general. Journalists will come from all over the world (United States, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Australia, and the United Kingdom) to write about their adventures in Chile for outlets like Travel Weekly, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, USA Today, Lonely Planet, The New York Times and The Guardian. The media roster is available now on the ATWS website.

In addition to the multi-day Pre-Summit Adventures, all ATWS attendees are invited to participate in a Day of Adventure around the Puerto Varas and Los Lagos region of Chile on October 5, 2015.

Exito has partnered with  LATAM and other airlines to bring ATWS delegates exclusive discounts on flights to the Summit, as well as flights on LATAM’s entire network within South America. Information for ATWS delegates is on the ATWS Traveler Information Page.
