Have you heard about a hiking and cycling route that crosses Italy from the Alps to Rome? One can walk 1000 km for 45 days, visiting wonderful cities such as Siena, San Gimignano, and Rome and enjoying the best of Italian landscapes and foods along the Via Francigena.

Now the full itinerary is available and described in detail on an App developed by ItinerAria, a new ATTA member specializing in slow tourism promotion through new technologies. “We developed the fifth generation of our walking and cycling tourism App, after more than 10 years of experience in the field,” declares Alberto Conte, CEO and founder of the company. “It is a new tool, equipped with all the latest features and functions."

The new App, beyond the possibility to browse offline, includes innovative features such as a high visibility navigator for a better cycling use, an off-track alert function, and the option for creating notifications about problems or points of interest encountered along the Way with a simple click. The App provides pilgrims with all the information they need to complete the route safely while discovering more about the territory they pass along the Way. Alberto continues: “We hope that this new tool will contribute to the development of a fabulous itinerary that crosses Italy and that is every bit as good as the more famous St. James.”

So far the App has proved to be greatly successful since it has already been downloaded more than 10,000 times! The App is available for both iOS and Android and can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.
