untitled-1Following the 24th annual World Travel Monitor® Forum held near Pisa, Italy in early November 2016, IPK International was again commissioned to prepare the ITB World Travel Trends Report 2016/2017 on behalf of ITB Berlin.

The report covers the main trends in outbound travel demand for the first eight months of 2016 together with estimates for the full year and initial forecasts for 2017.

In addition, spotlights amongst others focus on China & the transition of its outbound travelers into Western-style tourists, terrorism including strategies of tourist destinations in dealing with it, sharing accommodation & how Airbnb impacts cities as well as on Millennials, often seen as the next key market for generating future tourism growth.

The World Travel Monitor® final results of 2016, including the latest outlook for 2017, will be presented at the ITB Convention by Rolf Freitag, CEO of IPK International (see the program here). The World Travel Monitor® is based on a representative survey with more than 500,000 interviews a year in over 60 travel markets worldwide and has been regularly conducted for more than 25 years. It is recognized as the largest continuous study into global travel patterns.
