Intrepid Travel is betting that the next big disruptor in tourism isn’t AI, it’s sustainable supply chains. The certified B Corp announced a deepened commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through a new, multi-tiered 12-month global agreement with the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.
Through the partnership, Intrepid joins the Sustainable Supply Chains Program and the Coalition for Sustainable Procurement, bringing its 10,000 suppliers in 118 countries into SPARK, a training platform offering workshops, regional sessions, and self-paced modules to help small and medium-sized businesses accelerate their sustainability journey.
For Intrepid, this partnership underscores a bigger vision: embedding sustainability into the fabric of global tourism. By connecting its supply chain to the UN Global Compact, Intrepid is betting that travel can be a driver of change, proving that responsible procurement is not just possible, it’s the future of the industry.
Intrepid’s Chief People and Purpose Officer, Meegan Marshall, will participate in the High-Level Forum on Sustainable Procurement in New York City during the UN General Assembly in September 2025, and address the UN Global Compact Leaders' Summit.
“The world is not on track to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and we’re determined to do everything we can to support rapid progress through collaboration and knowledge sharing,” said Marshall. “We’re proud to support the UN Global Compact in this mission and to work closely with our teams and suppliers around the world to address urgent environmental and social issues,” she added.
Intrepid has been a participant in the UN Global Compact since 2008 and the two organizations have worked closely over the years. Intrepid was an early adopter of the Forward Faster initiative; is a founding member of the UN Global Compact’s inaugural CMO Impact Think Lab; and is a repeat sponsor of UNiting Business LIVE in Australia. Most recently, Intrepid hosted the launch of the UN Global Compact Network Australia’s Young Professionals Network in Melbourne in August 2025 and will again be a lead partner for UNiting Business LIVE in Sydney in May 2026.
