Indotrek, a leading adventure travel DMC in Southeast Asia, are now the proud owners of the trail blazing Kingfisher Ecolodge located in Champasak province, Southern Laos. Kingfisher Ecolodge is situated adjacent to the stunning RAMSAR protected wetlands of Ban Kiet Ngong, just a short transfer from Pakse airport. Each of the authentic wooden bungalows presents a beautiful view overlooking the wetlands with the Bolaven Plateau rising as the backdrop in the distance. There is no better place to go to spend a few nights enjoying nature, whether it be cycling to local villages, relaxing in a hammock or exploring the forest and ancient sites nearby on foot.
Kingfisher Ecolodge reopened in October 2017 after undergoing some essential renovation and maintenance, this ensured the accommodation meets our standards. We aim to give the lodge an upgrade so as to provide a better overall experience for our guests. All current contracts with Agents and DMC’s will be honored.
We have taken on Mr. Jeroen Bekebrede who is the new General Manager of the lodge taking over all daily operations and sales. Jeroen has a wealth of experience as a hotelier in Laos, most recently he has been heading up the team at nearby La Folie Lodge, he is now eager to tackle this new role.
Plans are in place for further expansion of the lodge mid 2018 with a number of larger more luxurious bungalows coming online. We are also busy developing new and exciting active products in the southern Laos region which will be a great addition and compliment activities currently on offer at the lodge.
Indotrek are passionate about nature and wish to help preserve the forests and wild areas of Southeast Asia. Indotrek hope to continue to promote tourism in marginal regions and secondary destinations.
