New York, NY - Immersion Journeys has been selected to receive the 2011 Tanzania Tourist Board Southern & Western Safari Circuit Award. “We are extremely proud of our achievements for the second year in a row” said Rumit Mehta, Founder of Immersion Journeys “The up and coming Southern/ western safari circuit of Tanzania is truly authentic Africa. This area was once crisscrossed by the famous explorers including Livingstone, Stanley and the famous Big Game hunter Selous. These same explorers were also trying to put an end to slavery and doing missionary work with guns, guts and gumption. We can say they were the first tourists. Now we have wild life enthusiasts armed with cameras and binoculars!”

This prestigious award is handed out once a year and will be presented in September in New York. In 2010, the TTB presented Immersion Journeys a Product Development Award.

The Southern safari circuit consists of several world renowned game parks- Selous, Ruaha, Mahale, Gombe and Mikumi and what makes them even more special is the ability to go game viewing by boat or even by foot with an armed ranger.

Immersion Journeys is based in New York with offices in Tanzania. They specialize in custom adventure and safari programs. Their most recent program is a 11 day cycling, culinary and wild life program in South Africa.
