New partnership offering battleface travel insurance expands Holiday Extras’ COVID-19 travel cover, even to countries under FCO and government non-essential travel advisories

Holiday Extras, the UK market leader in holiday extras such as airport parking, airport hotels, lounges and travel insurance, has expanded its COVID-19 insurance range to provide for destinations worldwide - even countries not on the FCO’s exemption list.

In a new partnership offering battleface travel insurance, underwritten at Lloyd’s of London, Holiday Extras’ customers can now easily access protection for travellers heading off to destinations worldwide - including countries such as France, Spain or the USA, which have traditionally been top summer destinations for UK travellers but are currently under UK government non-essential travel advisories. The new battleface policy is an addition to Holiday Extras’ existing travel insurance range, which includes COVID-19 travel insurance cover for standard trip (where FCO advice against non-essential travel is not in place).

Offering peace of mind for travellers heading to such destinations or where travel is essential, the new travel insurance policy will provide cover, for example if customers fall ill and require medical or emergency assistance 24/7 including medical expenses incurred by COVID-19, loss of baggage, personal money and passport and personal liability.

Howard Dove, Insurance Director at Holiday Extras, said:

"Just two weeks after we launched our Covid travel insurance for ordinary holiday destinations (so countries which the FCO advises are suitable for non-essential travel), we’re pleased to announce we can now offer cover for trips to every destination via our partnership with battleface. Being able to offer good, comprehensive travel insurance to all of our customers is a key part of our long-term strategic plan and core to our industry’s much-needed recovery.

Initially we’ll simply link out to battleface’s website, but we’re working to integrate their product with our call centre and ultimately offer this option to customers via a smart drop-down menu if they select a destination that’s not on the FCO exemption list."

Sasha Gainullin, CEO battleface adds: “We’re excited to be working with Holiday Extras to offer our insurance to their eight million customers a year, and to expand their coverage so those travellers can get the protection they need no matter where in the world they’re travelling.”
