Heliconia, video production and marketing company behind the adventure travel series Epic Trails and Facing Waves, is pleased to announce Peak Experience—a brand new kind of adventure travel show leading the way in sustainable and transformational travel. Created in partnership with Adventure Junky, a leader in the sustainable tourism movement, Peak Experience will premiere on Outside TV in the summer of 2021.

Peak Experience will examine the issues behind sustainable travel and provide inspiration to those looking to marry their love and respect for the environment with their desire to wander and experience the world’s top adventures. “Heliconia is particularly proud to make this announcement today, on Earth Day’s 50th anniversary,” explains Heliconia president, Ken Whiting. For years, Heliconia has filmed and produced inspiring adventure travel shows highlighting some of the most incredible destinations and experiences around the globe. This partnership with Adventure Junky will allow us to focus on a critical issue facing the travel industry.”

Peak Experience will be hosted by Fuchsia Claire Sims, Google Techmaker, Scholar and co-founder of the Adventure Junky App. Adventure Junky is an Australian start-up and certified B-Corp business whose mission is to unite a global community of conscious and responsible travellers, tour operators and destinations, each committed to making tourism a force for good. “We're thrilled to be working with Heliconia to bring Peak Experience to life, showcasing some of the most remarkable and sustainable experiences on the planet,” shares Sims. “Given the challenges that the travel industry and humanity as a whole currently face, there is a genuine global appetite for positive change. Now is the time we can redefine how we travel to support the people and places we visit. Stay tuned!”

Peak Experience will showcase adventures that are high on experience while being low on impact. It will fuel those with an addiction to adventure and will illustrate that it is possible to leave a positive footprint in their travels. Five episodes of the new series is set to air on Outside TV in the summer of 2021. Although filming is on hold for the time being due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Heliconia looks forward to filming the new series once travel restrictions have been lifted and it is safe to do so. Destinations interested in partnering on this exciting project and being featured in Peak Experience are encouraged to reach out to Heliconia’s Partnership Manager, Stefanie Manton-Ward at [email protected].
