Since World Champion kayaker, Ken Whiting, founded the company in 1998, Heliconia has been a leader in outdoors media production. Heliconia is an award winning media company that specializes in TV production, WebTV production and social media marketing. Heliconia offers tourism bodies, outfitters and operators the opportunity to highlight their destination as a top paddling or kayak fishing destination in the world through professional photography, videography and an aggressive social media promotion.

Heliconia currently produces five unique television series: The Extreme Kayak Fishing Challenge and Knot Right Kayak Fishing which air on NBC Sports; The Kayak Fishing Show and Kayak Bassin’ on the World Fishing Network; and Facing Waves on Outside Television. Heliconia also has 10 unique WebTV channels in action on YouTube, which were watched a combined 8 million times in 2012.

Heliconia’s social media network of avid paddlers includes 50,000 YouTube subscribers, over 60,000 Facebook fans, and 17,000 Twitter followers that look to Heliconia to provide paddlesport entertainment and instructional videos.
