SNEWS, the leading trade publication of the outdoor and adventure travel industries is seeking your input in an important study that explores sexual harassment, sexual assault, and workplace bias in our professional community.

In a similar survey aimed at the climbing community, 47 percent of the women and 16 percent of the men who took the survey reported that they have experienced SHSA behavior during climbing activities.

In continued partnership with the #SafeOutside movement, and with guidance and input from Charlie Lieu, the data scientist who started it, SNEWS is now conducting a survey among professionals working within the outdoor and adventure travel industry to gauge the extent of sexual harassment, assault, and misconduct within our professional community. Our survey also addresses gender bias and inequality within the industry. To our knowledge, no such data currently exists in the outdoor industry. SNEWS will share the results and an analysis of the data in late November. And we will continue to offer tools and resources to address these important issues.

As a member of the adventure travel industry, your input is crucial.

Regardless of your gender, regardless of whether you have experienced sexual misconduct or gender bias, will you please take a few minutes to complete the survey?

You may access the survey here until November 1st.
