Green World Adventures Costa Rica Signs the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism (GCET)

Green World Adventures became signatory of the Commitment on the 13th of May, 2013, at an event held in the context of the 55th Meeting of the UNWTO Commission for the Americas in San Jose, Costa Rica, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Allan Flores, Minister of Tourism of Costa Rica, and Mr. Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary-General.

A fundamental frame of reference for responsible and sustainable tourism, the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism (GCET) is a comprehensive set of principles designed to guide key-players in tourism development. Addressed to governments, the travel industry, communities and tourists alike, it aims to help maximise the sector’s benefits while minimising its potentially negative impact on the environment, cultural heritage and societies across the globe.

The staff of Green World Adventures is committed in providing responsible travel in the tours that they offer in Costa Rica. That´s why the company recently sign Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, some months ago Green World Adventures also signed the code of conduct for the protection of child and teens from commercial sexual exploitation in travel and tourism.
