Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing (VDTM) has unveiled a newly redesigned website for Vermont visitors, just in time for National Travel and Tourism Week, May 2-10, 2015.
www.VermontVacation.com now has a cleaner design and bold, eye-catching photography. It is completely responsive and intuitive, so it’s easy to navigate across all platforms. An improved events calendar and trip planner was made possible through a partnership with the Vermont Chamber of Commerce and Vermont developer Route 802. The website was designed internally by members of the VDTM staff.
“Now planning a visit to Vermont is almost as pleasant as the trip itself,” said Megan Smith, Commissioner for the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing. “Our new website makes it easy to find things to do and places to stay in our beautiful state. Our team spent countless hours making sure that everything a traveler needs to know is just a few clicks away.”
According to a recent Benchmark Study of the economic impact of tourism, there were an estimated 12.8 million visitor trips to Vermont in 2013, and overall tourism revenue was $2.49 billion. The tourism department’s new website has seen roughly three times more page visits per day since its launch.
One of the new pages on the website shows how people of all abilities can enjoy Vermont’s natural landscapes. www.InclusiveVermont.com has an interactive Google map of adaptive recreational opportunities and accessible facilities. It also has a list of outdoor events honoring this year’s 25th anniversary of the American Disabilities Act, and profiles of Vermonters who enjoy adaptive sports in the state.
