Toronto - Gapadventures.com has been recognized as the best-designed website in the travel industry by the online trade publication TravelMole.com.

The prestigious award, presented to Gap Adventures at the TravelMole Web Innovation Awards in Singapore last week, acknowledges excellence in user experience and presentation across websites in the travel industry.

"This award is a testament to our re-imagining of Gapadventures.com as an even more dynamic e-commerce website focused on ensuring the best experience for our travellers at any point in the travel cycle - from dreaming and booking, to travelling and returning home," said Dan Christian, Gap Adventures' Director, Marketing & eCommerce.

Re-launched in July, 2009, the reinvigorated Gapadventures.com is designed to educate passengers about the life-changing aspects of Gap Adventures' sustainable, authentic trips, as well as the tour operator's vibrant culture.

"Since the re-launch of the site, key metrics such as site traffic and online bookings have increased significantly," Christian added. "In light of that success, it's a huge honour to receive this recognition of our efforts to provide a better online experience for our travellers and continue to lead in this space."

Last held in 2008, the TravelMole Web Innovation Awards seek to recognize companies leading the travel industry in a wide range of online categories including social media and creative marketing. Winners were selected from a long list of nominations by a respected panel of judges including Water & Strone founder Ric Shreves, GoQuo founder Ron Ramanan, Oneglobe Network principal Liz Craig and Forumline.com owner Meraj Huda.

"Gap Adventures was a great example of a niche product provider with a highly competent website experience," Huda said of the accolade. "It includes all features that makes a website both relevant for the user and address all the technical features. This is about as good as it gets!"
