Adventure travel leader invites travellers to discover their own back yard
For the first time in its 21-year history, G Adventures, the world’s adventure travel leader, introduces a comprehensive collection of North America tours. Exploring the continent’s natural wonders, famed national parks, and captivating cities, the new trips vary in length, style and service level.
All tours include an expert Chief Experience Officer. Plus, unlike large bus tours, the trips maintain G Adventures’ recognized small group size – some as small as eight.
“We’re excited to expand our portfolio of award-winning adventures to include the North America market. From the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Yosemite and Canadian Rockies, to vibrant cities like New York, Toronto and San Francisco, there is so much to discover right here in our own back yard,” says Bruce Poon Tip, G Adventures’ founder. “These new trips were developed based on our commitment to offering unique, life-changing, authentic and sustainable travel experiences.”
Designed for those who want to take their time, stretch out and really delve into a particular region, the Active Escapes are based out of comfortable, authentic lodges and charming hotels near national parks and iconic sites. With an average group size of eight, the intimate, week-long trips are ideal for those who are looking to actively explore a region by foot, pedal and paddle. Travellers have the opportunity to explore the continent at a slow and steady pace and savour the many memorable moments.
In the six-day Napa Valley Active Escape ($1999), travellers kayak among redwoods in Sonoma, sip stellar vino at wineries, hike through the wilderness of the Wine Country, and enjoy picnics with local produce.
Standard Hotel Touring
The budget-friendly, small-group tours, ranging from eight to 22 days, are ideal for travellers looking to explore North America in comfort. Travellers uncover the continent’s must-see and must-experience destinations via new, comfortable 15-passenger vehicles, and stay in quality hotels. In addition to a full range of optional activities, plenty of free time is built into each itinerary to provide travellers with the freedom and flexibility to explore on their own.
From Dixieland jazz, Mississippi Delta blues and Kentucky bluegrass to Elvis Presley himself, travellers tune in to the rhythms of America on the eight-day Routes of American Music Southbound adventure ($1349). This trip is the perfect way for music lovers to experience the beating heart and toe-tapping soul of the country, with opportunities to enjoy the best BBQ in St. Louis and party in sultry New Orleans.
Overland Road Trips
Ideal for value-conscious, outdoor enthusiasts seeking genuine experiences, the small-group tours, ranging from seven to 45 days, connect the continent’s far-flung highlights via the open highway. From roadside diners to wilderness camping under the stars, travellers come face-to-face with North America’s most unique and celebrated natural wonders.
All camping equipment is new and included (except sleeping bags and pillows), and travellers journey between destinations on new, wi-fi enabled vans. Plus, for added convenience, the tours include a start and finish hotel stay in major cities.
On the eight-day Sin, Surf & Sierras adventure ($949), travellers hike in Yosemite National Park, drive along California’s beautiful coastline, revel in the gaudiness of Las Vegas, break a sweat in Death Valley, relax on the beach in Santa Barbara and stargaze in Los Angeles.
