AdventureELEVATE is the Adventure Travel Trade Association’s annual North America-based two-day intensive educational and networking conference that brings together thought-leaders and practitioners for inspiration, education and insights into trends that shape our industry year-round.
The theme of the AdventureELEVATE taking place in Eugene, Oregon, 5-7 May, 2020, is Shine. To shine means to give out a bright light, to be outstanding, brilliant. The adventure travel community will find an offbeat, idealistic intelligence shining brightly, to inform and inspire as we make the connections that shape the future of travel.
With topics ranging from financial fitness to taking meaningful climate action, from trendspotting to diversity, equity, and inclusion, delegates will engage in workshop-style breakout sessions at the downtown Graduate Hotel. In addition, attendees will be able to connect directly with official attending media and the 250 delegates in three facilitated networking sessions: MediaConnect, AdventureExchange, and the popular and invigorating Disruptive Networking Adventure or “D.N.A.” cocktail.
Along with networking and education, two keynote speakers will serve to bring us together as a community at the start and end of the event and inspire us to keep shining the light on tourism as a force for good for years to come.
Sura Al-Naimi
A former Global Disney Innovation & Creativity Director, Al-Naimi has worked in the field since 2001, touching the elephant from many different perspectives from start-up life to big company consulting. She’s the founder of HiHelloSura, an adjunct professor for the future thinking Singularity University, and a consultant and innovation facilitator for clients like Kaiser Permanente Health, Sony Entertainment, and FaceBook, to name a few. Al-Naimi empowers people in their journey to express their creative potential and tap into the power of thinking differently together.
During AdventureELEVATE’s inspirational and interactive opening keynote session, Al-Naimi will offer delegates a new way to consider the notion of happiness. Through practical, actionable principles, you’ll learn how to reprogram the brain towards a positive mindset, to achieve the exceptional, and make a healthy impact on those around you.
David Beurle
David Beurle is a world-renowned strategist, researcher, and thought leader. He works with global leaders and innovators in business, philanthropy, government, and local communities, guiding them to create an inclusive vision and actionable roadmap for the future with an emphasis on economic development and resiliency. By posing “future splitting questions,” he engages audiences to examine the implications and impacts of various choices as they contemplate and plan their future.
