Evaneos has joined more than 5,000 B Corp-certified companies around the world dedicated to making business a force for good. Following more than a year of exhaustive evaluations, this recognition cements the company’s mission to make travel a source of positive change.

What does the B Corp label stand for?

The B Corp movement aims to transform the global economy to benefit everyone, protecting the planet and local communities. To be awarded B Corp certification, companies must meet the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility, transparency and accountability. The certification is notoriously tough to obtain, bringing together businesses that truly balance profit with purpose.

Each company’s B Corp application and their eventual score is evaluated through an independent audit covering more than 200 criteria ranging from corporate governance to human resources. The minimum score to become certified is 80 points, with the average among applicants just 50.9.

In May 2022, Evaneos was the first French travel company to become certified with a score of 89.6, demonstrating their impact on transforming the tourism industry and their commitment to continuous improvement.

Evaneos in Numbers

To date, more than 500,000 travelers have booked trips with more than 500 local agencies in more than 130 countries with Evaneos. This represents hundreds of millions of euros spent with local travel experts who are passionate about protecting the places they call home.

Better Trips: the Evaneos Vision

Founded in 2009 by Eric La Bonnardière and Yvan Wibaux, Evaneos allows travelers to book unique and more responsible trips directly with passionate and rigorously selected local agents around the world. Through this unique model, travelers benefit from exceptional service and expertise while helping to make travel a source of positive change.

Giving travelers the power to change the world, trip after trip, above all means ensuring profits support local economies. With Evaneos, 87% of trip costs go directly to local businesses and entrepreneurs in-destination.

For each trip sold, Evaneos also invests a percentage in the Better Trips Fund, created to reduce the negative effects of the tourist industry and to drive positive change in the sector. At least three million euros will be invested by 2025.
