Travel businesses and event planners considering how to make their businesses more sustainable may learn from the European Travel Commission’s approach to climate action. As one element of its Climate Action Plan, ETC will begin encouraging its members to use Tomorrow’s Air when traveling to ETC events. They’ll also amplify those participating by offering a matching payment. As an added benefit, ETC members participating in this program can save 20% on the price of one year of ATTA membership.
ETC COO Teodora Marinska observed, “ETC’s Climate Action Plan has set forth a comprehensive strategy to reduce our carbon footprint, empower our members to minimize the environmental impact of tourism in their destinations, and support the European tourism industry on their Net Zero journey. By integrating sustainable practices such as Tomorrow’s Air into our operations, we aim to create a positive ripple effect that extends far beyond our organization.”
The European Travel Commission has been helping promote and shape European tourism since its founding in 1948. Today, its members include the National Tourism Organizations of 34 countries in Europe along with numerous travel businesses from Google to Expedia, Airbnb and Emirates among many others. The organization and its members are strategically focused on sustainability and see climate action as a key element.
