Deeper Africa has been named the #4 Safari Outfitter in Travel + Leisure magazine’s 2019 World’s Best Awards, appearing on the influential list for the fourth year in a row. Travel + Leisure’s annual awards honor the top travel destinations and companies around the globe, as rated by its readers. The Boulder-based company, founded and spearheaded by Karen Zulauf and Wil Smith, specializes in creating unforgettable safaris throughout East and Southern Africa. Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards are amongst the most prestigious in the travel industry, known for spotlighting excellence in hospitality and travel.
Every year, Travel + Leisure asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe — to share opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. Readers rated tour operators and safari outfitters based on their staff and guides, itineraries and destinations, activities, accommodations, food, and overall value. For each characteristic, respondents could choose a rating of excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor. The final scores are indexed averages of these responses.
