South America’s fastest growing adventure destination has been slowly but steadily gaining momentum and is now reaching a main stream market. To take advantage of this opportunity Ecuadorian based, Colombia Adventure, as part of the Neotropic Travel Group, has acquired Colombian Bike Junkies, regarded as the country’s top biking experience. Located in San Gil, department of Santander, just a few hours north of Bogota, this region known as, “The Adventure Capital of Colombia” is crossed by two deep canyons, rivers, waterfalls and a cave system. An ideal destination for gravity sports, especially for biking into the gorges, along historic and royal roads built in the 16th century.

By the end of this month a new biking operation is planned to open in Medellin’s tourist quarters, a city known for its nightlife, but less so for its outdoor activities. Yet, located in the central Andes, it is also a prime location for gravity sports. Full day biking tours to world heritage towns and nearby lakes provide new ways to explore this vibrant part of Colombia.

The successful combination of high quality dual suspension bikes (Kona and Trek), full day trips ending in important tourist attractions, and amenities like as gringo food, free tees and group photos is now being ported to Medellin. The company already offered multisports in both the San Gil and Medellin region, but is now expanding its offer to include new biking and other adventures to the booming Colombian market.
