Seattle, WA – Cascade Designs, the Seattle-based industry leader in the design and manufacture of premier outdoor equipment, has donated mattresses, water reservoirs and dry storage bags to Operation USA, assisting to meet the basic needs of up to 4000 citizens in the aftermath of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Working with a well-established network of local partners—including Peace Winds Japan and Second Harvest—Operation USA is focusing its efforts on supporting communities that may be overlooked by larger agencies or the Japanese government. The partner agencies will expand as the needs are assessed and specific recovery projects are determined.
The donated supplies are in transport from Cascade Designs’ Seattle manufacturing plant and warehouse to Operation USA’s Port of Los Angeles warehouse, where they will be added to more disaster relief supplies being staged for dispatch to Japan.
Cascade Designs has worked with Operation USA to support relief efforts for the Southeast Asian tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, the Pakistan earthquake, California Wildfires, flooding in the Philippines, Indonesia and Samoa, and most recently the earthquake in Haiti.
