Two leading names in Chilean adventure travel are celebrating new international recognition. Cascada Expediciones has been named Chile’s Leading Tour Operator 2025 at the World Travel Awards, while its flagship property, EcoCamp Patagonia, was voted among the top resorts in Central and South America in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards.
EcoCamp ranked 4th in Central and South America by readers of Condé Nast Traveller (UK) and 5th in South America by Condé Nast Traveler (US), placing it among the region’s most beloved nature-based retreats. Each year, readers of both magazines rate their travel experiences across categories such as hotels, islands, and tour operators. The 2025 surveys gathered more than 939,000 votes worldwide between April and June.
“It’s wonderful to hear that our guests and Condé Nast readers once again consider us among the best resorts in Central and South America,” said Isabel Menéndez, Sales Director of EcoCamp Patagonia and Cascada Expediciones. “This recognition reflects the value they place on our location, service, and activities. It’s a reward for the hard work of everyone at EcoCamp, Cascada, and our partners.”
The celebration continues with Cascada Expediciones’ win at the 32nd annual World Travel Awards, held September 27 in Cancún, Mexico. Often called the “Oscars of tourism,” the awards honor excellence across global travel categories. For Cascada, the 2025 title, its second in three years, recognizes a 34-year legacy of sustainable adventure travel and collaboration with local experts throughout Chile, Argentina, and Bolivia.
Founded in 1991 with rafting and kayaking trips on Chile’s Bío Bío River, Cascada grew into one of South America’s most respected tour operators, later launching EcoCamp Patagonia, the world’s first geodesic dome hotel. Together, the company and camp have helped define Chile’s reputation for responsible, nature-immersive travel.
