The initiative, led by the Brazilian Tourist Board (Embratur) in partnership with Sebrae (Support Service for Micro and Small Enterprises), was officially launched during AdventureELEVATE Latin America 2025, a major event hosted by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) in Bonito, one of Brazil’s premier adventure tourism destinations.

With destinations such as Chapada dos Veadeiros, Pantanal, Rota das Emoções, Ilhabela, and Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil offered a diverse portfolio for adventure-seeking travelers. The course was designed to train international travel professionals to become true experts in Brazil's most iconic nature and adventure destinations.

"Brazil is the perfect destination for those seeking adventure, ecotourism, and fun. We want professionals around the world to be well-prepared to promote these experiences, understanding our attractions, infrastructure, and strategic opportunities in depth," said Marcelo Freixo, President of Embratur. "This new module strengthened Brazil’s leadership in this segment and reinforced our position as a competitive, diverse, and sustainable destination."

“The Brazil Travel Specialist once again showcases Brazil’s leadership in promoting professional-level adventure and ecotourism services to the international market. It is an example for other countries on how to provide practical tools to organizations across a nation in order to improve their capabilities and services,” said Nicolás Caram, Latin America Director at the Adventure Travel Trade Association.

“During AdventureELEVATE Latin America, we launched the Brazil Travel Specialist platform in collaboration between Embratur and ATTA, reaching over 50 specialized Brazilian businesses and 50 international tour operators and journalists. We will continue supporting the delivery of such opportunities to people and destinations with the potential to attract adventure travelers from around the world,” added Caram.
