A new movement is reshaping luxury travel by aligning exploration with purpose. Be Impactful, a global initiative, is transforming journeys into platforms for citizen science, cultural preservation, and sustainability - where adventure meets legacy. Now, Latin Trails has become one of the program’s leading South American partners, reimagining upscale travel as a force for lasting good.

At the heart of Be Impactful’s mission is the PPRI method: Prepare, Participate, Reflect, Inspire. Before traveling, guests take a pledge to journey with awareness. On site, they participate in activities ranging from biodiversity monitoring to cultural projects. Afterward, travelers receive tailored action steps to extend their impact, and finally, they are encouraged to inspire others by sharing their experiences. This holistic framework ensures that positive change doesn’t stop when the trip ends.

Latin Trails, with more than two decades of experience creating luxury journeys across Ecuador, the Galápagos, and Peru, is embedding this framework into its offerings. Through the Positive Travel System (PTS), every booking with Latin Trails automatically supports reforestation, biodiversity research, or educational programs, without added cost to the traveler. On arrival, guests learn which project their journey is advancing; upon departure, they receive a Be Impactful Certificate recognizing their contribution.

The initiative’s projects highlight the diversity of meaningful travel. In Asia, Be Impactful raises awareness of sacred trees through interactive data mapping, blending ecological science with cultural preservation. In South America, Latin Trails brings the model to life with citizen-science programs guided by expert researchers in the Galápagos and Ecuador, alongside efforts to empower local communities through education and conservation.

Be Impactful also recognizes that not all participants engage in the same way. Its tiered model—Supporter, Practitioner, Leader, Founder—creates accessible entry points for travelers, operators, and destinations to align their efforts with measurable impact. For Latin Trails, that means moving beyond traditional notions of luxury to champion the idea that the truest indulgence is leaving a positive legacy.
