Toronto, ON - Sustainable Travel International has announced the launch of its Canada operations, in an effort to enhance the organization’s mission to collaborate with destinations, business and travellers to implement innovative sustainable tourism development and conservation solutions that protect the environment, support adaptation to climate change, maintain sense of place, and generate economic benefits. Shannon Guihan, Director of Toronto-based consulting firm Bannikin Travel and Tourism, joins the newly instated Canadian Executive Board.

The new Canada office and non-profit subsidiary boasts a high profile Canadian Board of Directors made up of leaders in the travel sector, and is a fully integrated extension of the organization’s international operations, which is headquartered in Washington, D.C.

With over fifteen years of industry experience, Shannon joins the team of talented and diverse professionals with a shared passion for sustainability in travel and tourism. The committee will consult with leading global brands, tourism associations, governments, and enterprises to develop groundbreaking solutions that address the industry’s most salient sustainability challenges.
