The Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) has signed a new cooperation agreement with Amazonas Cluster de Turismo (ACT) and Amazonas Destination (AD), establishing a multi-year partnership focused on advancing adventure and nature-based tourism in Brazil’s Amazonas state.
The agreement brings together ATTA’s global expertise with two leading regional tourism organizations to support capacity building, international market access, and innovation for local adventure travel businesses. The partnership emphasizes practical collaboration, including knowledge exchange, professional development, and increased international visibility for Amazonas-based operators.
The Brazilian Amazon represents one of the world’s most significant adventure travel destinations, with growing demand for wildlife, river-based, cultural, and community-led experiences. Adventure travel plays a critical role in the region’s economy, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises while contributing to conservation and sustainable development efforts. As international interest in nature-positive and responsible travel continues to rise, the Amazonas region is positioned to benefit from stronger global connections and improved business readiness.
For ATTA, the partnership deepens engagement in South America and strengthens its presence in a destination central to global conversations around sustainability, biodiversity, and responsible tourism. ACT and AD will support local coordination and outreach, helping ensure that international expertise and opportunities translate into tangible benefits for operators on the ground.
The agreement runs through 2027, reflecting a longer-term approach to collaboration as destinations and businesses adapt to evolving market conditions. Both sides have emphasized shared values around sustainability, skills development, and strengthening the competitiveness of local tourism enterprises.
By formalizing this partnership, ATTA, ACT, and AD aim to reinforce the Brazilian Amazon’s position in the global adventure travel market while supporting responsible growth that benefits communities, businesses, and the natural environment.
