The Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), the world’s largest network of adventure travel companies, today announced a refreshed leadership team just as the industry convenes in Chilean Patagonia for the Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS).
The announcement introduces Gustavo Timo as President, Jessica Inge as Vice President of Operations and Strategy, and Nicolas Caram as Vice President of Destination and Business Development. Together, this leadership team represents both continuity and renewal, reflecting ATTA’s commitment to cultivating internal talent and broadening its global impact as it prepares for an ambitious 2026 calendar of events.
For nearly three decades, Gustavo Timo has been at the forefront of adventure tourism and ecotourism. His career began as a guide and inbound tour operator before co-founding the Brazilian Adventure and Ecotourism Trade Association. Since joining the ATTA in 2017, he has championed sustainability and innovation, leading initiatives that elevated global standards and connected diverse stakeholders across continents. Timo now steps into the role of President with a vision to amplify ATTA’s impact and sharpen its focus. “This role is about amplifying impact,” he explains. “We will continue to position ATTA as a leader in driving partnerships and innovation for a more resilient industry.”
Jessica Inge brings over 20 years of professional experience in operations leadership and strategic planning. Her career is rooted in guiding organizations through transformation, ensuring strong systems and strategies are in place to deliver lasting impact. At the ATTA, Inge has already reshaped internal processes to improve efficiency and accountability, while aligning strategy with member and partner needs. As she assumes her new role, she notes: “My focus is to empower the team and ensure our members feel the value of our work in every interaction.”
With a background in destination development and international business partnerships, Nicolas Caram has more than 15 years of experience working alongside governments, NGOs, and private companies to activate tourism responsibly. He has been central to projects that not only strengthen adventure tourism markets but also preserve cultural heritage and natural resources. Caram sees adventure travel as a tool for transformation: “Adventure travel has transformative power. My goal is to help destinations harness that power responsibly for long-term benefit,” he says.
ATTA’s CEO, Shannon Stowell, highlighted the significance of this leadership transition: “The timing could not be better. With ATWS in Patagonia and a strong 2026 event lineup on the horizon, this new leadership team will help us sharpen our focus and deliver greater value to our global community.”
