ASI Reisen Establishes Advisory Board to Drive Growth in Sustainable Travel

ASI Reisen, the renowned family-owned company founded in 1963, announces the formation of a high-calibre Advisory Board. The Advisory Board will provide strategic support to the company's growth plans for its sustainable travel platform and consists of three industry experts.

ASI‘s mission is to create sustainable experiences for travelers and local communities. To advance this mission and further develop a leading group for sustainable travel, ASI Reisen has appointed experienced experts Sören Hartmann, Remo Masala, and Gilles Despas to the advisory board.

Currently, the group includes ASI Reisen, a platform for sustainable adventure travel, and WeDesignTrips, an expert in tailor-made travel. In the coming years, more specialized travel companies are to be integrated into the group. The planned growth can be achieved through both new ventures and investments in existing companies.

Ambros Gasser, CEO of ASI Reisen, emphasizes the importance of the independence of each company within the group, while simultaneously utilizing technology synergies in the area. "At the forefront of our growth strategy is our clear commitment to genuine sustainability," says Gasser.

Sören Hartmann brings extensive experience from the travel industry. Until the end of 2022, he was CEO of DER Touristik Group and a member of the executive board of Rewe Group. Hartmann's impressive career began in 1989 at Take Off GmbH. He significantly contributed to the development of the TUI Group and led Robinson Club GmbH and later DER Touristik Deutschland GmbH as Managing Director. Under his leadership, DER Touristik became the second-largest European travel and tourism group. Today, Hartmann is the President of the Federal Association of the German Tourism Industry and serves in various supervisory board and advisory roles.

Gilles Despas is an experienced expert in e-commerce and online marketplaces, particularly in the travel sector. Most recently, he served as CEO of SMG Swiss Marketplace Group. Previously, Despas worked at Thomas Cook Group plc as Chief Marketing and Chief Digital Officer and CEO at HolidayCheck AG. His extensive international experience in e-commerce, including a ten-year tenure at Ebookers.com, makes him a valuable member of the advisory board.

Remo Masala is a renowned marketing expert with over 20 years of experience as CMO in various tourism conglomerates, including Design Hotels, Kuoni, and Thomas Cook. He is considered a creative mind who has developed several hotel and industry innovations. Since 2019, he has been running his own consulting firm specializing in innovations in the tourism industry. His clients include global real estate funds, family offices, and airlines. As a trend expert, he also works for Audi AG and their Foresight Academy. Masala brings a unique combination of customer-oriented and commercial instinct as well as strategic expertise.
