KINGSTON, NY — AmeriBag, Inc., a leader in the travel and handbag industry and maker of the Healthy Back Bag® tote, has announced today that from October 1 through the end of 2006 it will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their pink handbags to the fight against breast cancer. During this time any purchase of a Healthy Back Bag® tote or Baglett in Blush Leather or Flamingo Pink Microfiber will prompt the company to make a donation to a national breast cancer advocacy organization.
“We are thrilled to be able to help such an important cause,” states Margery Gaffin, co-founder of AmeriBag. “Our pink Healthy Back Bags are a natural for this initiative and I am hoping that we can help raise awareness of the importance of supporting the fight against breast cancer.” Gaffin, a survivor herself, remains passionate about research, advocacy, Margery Gaffin funding and philanthropic efforts. AmeriBag has been actively involved with supporting co-founder of AmeriBag both local and national organizations, however this is the first time that proceeds from the sale of a product have been donated to the cause.
Consumers who wish to purchase one of these bags can visit the AmeriBag web site at www.ameribag.com, where they will be directed to a local retailer. Bags may also be purchased directly from the web site, or at the AmeriBag Adventures store in Kingston, NY. Designated bags will have a special “Think Pink” hangtag that alerts the customer of the donation.
“We will continue to be involved with supporting various organizations on a private level, however this is an exciting way for us to get our customers and our retailers involved.” says Gaffin. “We look forward to helping raise funds and awareness for this very important cause.”
