With less than two months to go before delegates arrive for AdventureELEVATE, activity is already underway for this North America industry event. Connecting and networking with fellow travel professionals, along with a robust educational agenda, are the primary reasons for attending AdventureELEVATE, which is being held in Banff, Alberta, 13-15 March. With the delegate roster now available, which includes several key adventure travel companies in North America, and the online networking app open, industry professionals are getting a headstart on maximizing their attendance at the annual event.

This year a new, more structured networking event will debut at AdventureELEVATE called AdventureExchange. Built upon MediaExchange and Marketplace events, the three-hour AdventureExchange allows delegates to maximize their time at AdventureELEVATE by pre-scheduling meetings in advance. AdventureELEVATE’s delegate roster for 2018 reveals a rich cross-section of adventure travel leaders, especially those based or with business interests in North America, including tour operators, outfitters, suppliers, accommodations, adventure travel destination representatives, travel advisors, writers, and journalists, along with supporting industries. AdventureExchange allows for meetings between all of these delegates.

“We have customized the features of our event networking platform, enabling all AdventureELEVATE attendees to quickly tell others about themselves, their areas of expertise, and what types are partnerships they are seeking,” said Jessica Inge, office and account manager for the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) and technical expert for AdventureELEVATE. “One of the features that I am most excited about is the improved personal profile. We’ve made it easy for all attendees to craft a robust digital business card that helps connect delegates to others, and find the right people to meet with. Being able to filter the attendee list by needs or interests means delegates can find the best delegates to connect with in just a few clicks.”

An emphasis on improving meeting opportunities such as AdventureExchange is a reflection on the importance of connections within the adventure travel industry. Time and again, ATTA members have stated that the opportunity to develop professional relationships is one of the most valuable aspects of their membership in general and a key reason for returning to AdventureELEVATE each year.

In addition to AdventureExchange, AdventureELEVATE will be packed with numerous chances to meet and connect with other delegates. The Disruptive Networking Adventure (D.N.A.) Happy Hour, a novel and fun yet structured way to make business contacts, will return this year. Additionally, delegates should ensure they connect with the attending media during MediaConnect.
