Pub- Traversée du lac à vélo ANGLAIS 2017The Traversée Internationale du Lac St-Jean à Vélo announces the date for its 4th edition, which will take place from Roberval to Péribonka on Saturday, February 25, 2017.

The website’s 2017 edition is online as of today and registration for this chilling adventure will begin on Tuesday, September 6, 2017. The number of registrants is limited to 100, of which 30 are for participants from outside Québec. “In 2016, we succeeded in making Lac-Saint-Jean media present internationally. Even though we have many registration requests, experience reminds us that the security of the 2016 participants and volunteers must remain our top priority. The number of cyclists participating in this challenge must thus be limited,” explained David Lecointre, General Manager.

For this edition, the management and organization initiate a new formula with departure from Roberval and arrival in Péribonka. “Just as the Véloroute des Bleutes, the Traversée du Lac Saint-Jean à Vélo expects to generate revenue for the municipalities surrounding the lake; The departure and arrival host cities may vary each year,” added Michel de Champlain, President.

Participants from around the world will be present once again and we announce that participants from new countries such as Switzerland and Chile will also be joining this year’s edition.

The installation of a safe and professional organization requires the financial support of Lac Saint-Jean's 3 RCMs, regrouped under the “Destination Lac Saint-Jean” trademark. Roberval and Péribonka will also welcome participants at the Village sur Glace (village on the ice) and Bistr’eau in support of the event. It's also important to highlight the excellent collaboration between Tourisme Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and Alliance de l'Industrie Touristique du Québec for inviting the media from around the globe.

In closing, Bilodeau Canada will once again be the event's official presenter to provide lasting memories of the local resident's expertise to the visitors.
