The ATTA Team has returned from our second annual partner event with Mexico, ATMEX, held in Veracruz August 14-17th, and we're happy to share some photos and feedback from this year's attendees. The event matched international buyers, media and speakers to a specially selected pool of regional adventure tourism operators, and highlighted unique and authentic Mexican products and itineraries.

International media representatives editing, writing and photographing for outlets such as AFAR, TravelAge West, JAX FAX Travel, Everything-Everywhere, Outside Magazine, Sierra Magazine, Alaska Airlines, San Francisco Examiner, Huffington Post, Runaway Juno, Dallas Morning News, Al Centro Media, Host Agency Reviews, Go Backpacking, among others joined ATMEX attendees to dive deep into Mexico’s adventure travel offerings.

"Congratulations.  [ATMEX 2013] was a great great event.  @AMTAVE Jalisco members are ready for the next one.”
- Mauricio Margules, President of AMTAVE Jalisco

"Congrats to the ATTA team on a successful ATMEX 2.0! It was a privilege to participate in the conference and to be amongst such an accomplished group of speakers.  The conference was an invigorating couple of days: great people, exceptional experiences, wonderful hospitality and some productive conversations with new connections and action items to follow.”
- Luis Vargas, The Cylmb

"2013 ATMEX Mexico: An Unforgettable Adventure Travel Expo. Born out of the travel imagination and success of the Adventure Travel World Summit (and with much work by ATTA team Rebecca Yanez & Antonio Rosal) ATMEX, now in its second year, is specifically focused on promoting adventure tourism in Mexico. I am very impressed and excited by the colorful and rich blend of culture, nature and adventure activities that are readily available in Mexico, our closest and most culturally fascinating neighbor. Despite the bad press that Mexico has SO unfairly received with regards to crime...every time I travel there I feel completely safe, welcome and increasingly excited to explore and learn more. Mexico, one of the world’s great travel destinations, is often singled out for violent crime without telling the whole story.  Stay tuned for our Ciclismo Classico family "Adventure, Nature and Culture" tours that I will put together in Baja, Copper Canyon and Veracruz...."
-Lauren Hefferon

Stay tuned for more updates on ATMEX 2013.
